Illes Balears in autumn

Autumn comes but Majorca does not stand still: the weather is still good for swimming in the sea and the cultural agenda offers plenty of possibilities for enjoying a complete and quality experience. This time of year is the ideal time to indulge yourself and discover the excellence of the island's gastronomy in a Michelin-starred restaurant. It is also ideal for a tour of the DOs of Majorca and tasting the magnificent quality of its wines and olive oil, which have been produced on the island for centuries. During this period there are also numerous sporting events: trails, marathons, regattas and other competitions are a wonderful excuse to escape to Majorca and enjoy all that our island has to offer.

In autumn, Menorca has a special light. From the second week of September onwards, the island is getting back to its usual rhythm, and its pleasant temperature makes it an ideal time to enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling or horse riding. It is also an excellent time to discover the incredible monuments of Talayotic Menorca, to calmly savour its excellent gastronomy and, at night, to partake in a spot of stargazing. Moreover, enjoying the sun and the beach during autumn is particularly pleasant: the coves are clearer, it is not so hot and the sea temperature stays warm until the beginning of November.

September arrives and, with it, autumn on the magical island of Ibiza. It's when everything is winding down, nightlife is giving way to daytime and the pace becomes a little slower. This allows you to enjoy the island calmly and serenely. Thanks to its Mediterranean climate, you can still enjoy the sun and the beach in autumn. The pleasant temperature of the sea and the uncrowded coves make it a delightful experience. During the autumn, several patron saint festivals are held in Ibiza, in such iconic white villages as Sant Mateu, Sant Miquel, Sant Rafael and Santa Gertrudis. It is also a time for food festivals and sporting events, some of them very committed to environmental conversation.

Autumn is an ideal time to discover the most authentic and natural Formentera. The days are shorter, but the temperatures are still pleasant enough to enjoy its coves, although without the hustle and bustle of summer. It is the ideal time to explore its extensive network of green ways and discover its natural and ethnological heritage on foot, by bike or on horseback. The sunsets at this time of the year from one of its lighthouses are a true natural spectacle and tint the sky with intense ochre, orange and pink colours. Autumn in Formentera is perfect for discovering its villages, its delicious gastronomy and it is also an ideal time for birdwatching in any of its wetlands.
