Cove Macarella

This natural wonder lies between Cala Galdana and Macarelleta beach - a nudist beach, which can be reached on foot from Macarella, and 140 meters long with a wide rocky section. An ideal place to discover this magnificent coastal area and to enjoy sports such as paddle surfing or kayaking. The bathing area is screened with buoys. Macarella is part of the Natural Area of Special Interest of the South Coast of Ciutadella. It is an unspoiled and isolated beach, bordered by cliffs covered with deep pine forests, a place of wild beauty with crystal clear water and shallow light-flooded seas. Although the beach is heavily visited in the summer, you must visit it! And do not forget your diving goggles, because near the rocky sections you can discover wonderful seas full of fish. This corner of paradise offers no services; so you must take care of your drinking water and the picnic. 

To get to the beach from Ciutadella (17.8 Km), follow the signs to Camí de Sant Joan de Missa. This path takes you first to the Cala En Turqueta and later to the Cala Macarella - in the summer the access of the guests is controlled: when the car park is full, no further visitors are admitted to the bay. From here you have to go 1.8 km to the beach with suitable shoes.
