Cove Morella Nou

In the north-east of Majorca, Cala Morella Nou shines in the protection of the Cape ses Piques in the north and Monsenyor Vives in the east, and protected by Cap Favàritx of the Tramuntana wind.

The Cape is the easternmost end of Menorca, and one of the most important lighthouses of the island is an indispensable aid to sailors. In the bay are two beaches, which resemble in their dimensions and form. Together they are 300 meters long. Here you have sand and fine pebbles to lie down, an intense blue water inviting to a bath, and the largest protected area of Menorca, s'Albufera des Grau, with no less than 70 hectares of protected nature. If you are fascinated by nature, you will not find any corners on this beach, starting with the surrounding area, with wooded hills, rocky promontories and various ecosystems of great value and extraordinary beauty. An area of special interest in your back and the infinity of the Mediterranean before you, which invites you to dive in the clear water. But, as you know, everything has its price, and the enjoyment of this beach is a few kilometers ahead.

From Mahón you have to move towards Fornells to Cape Favàritx. Follow the signs. After 7,5 km you will find the deviation to the lighthouse. Without arriving at the lighthouse, you can park your car on an esplanade at Km 7. Here starts a path that takes you across the Camí de Cavalls to the beach. Only 3 km; then you can enjoy your effort!
