Cove Torta (Es Mercadal)

The headland that separates Cala Torta from Port de Sanitja includes Torre de Sanitha, a defence tower which rises 15 metres above the sea level. This fortress is not very well preserved nowadays because of the erosion of the sea and the wind. This conic structure with octagonal form was built with stones, mortar and marès. At a small distance from Torre de Sanitja you can still find another smaller construction. This might have been used by the guard.
