The Pedra Viva Festival of Menorca

Each year, the impressive s'Hostal quarries of Ciutadella become the stage for an important program of cultural events. The festival starts at the beginning of June with a large number of events, with music, ballet, theater and films. A stone landscape of high ethnological and cultural value that will not leave you indifferent.

The paradisiacal island of Menorca celebrates a summer festival every year at the beginning of July with many events, such as ballet, theater and film. Líthica - that is the name of the place - are the old sandstone quarries near Ciutadella. The deeply excavated quarries are an artificial landscape of high aesthetic value. One does not know exactly when stones were broken here for the first time, but the quarries were active for at least two hundred years. The place has been selected for its wonderful acoustics to celebrate the Festival de Pedra Viva (Living Stones Festival) during the summer months.

In the stone quarry there is a park called Laberint del Vergers, and a nice and small botanical garden. Do not forget that Menorca is one of the pearls of the Mediterranean - a perfect destination to escape routine and stress without having to travel far.
