On Wednesdays and Saturdays morning, the southernmost place of the island hosts its colorful open air market in the open with more than 150 stalls of food and craftsmanship.
Beyond the wonderful coast of Santanyi, with its 35 kilometers of coastline with its beautiful coves or the Mondragó Natural Park, this place also offers other attractions: its weekly market, the Church of the end of the 18th century dedicated to Saint Andrés, the vice chancellor´s office or the Town Hall, and some pretty bars and restaurants, where you can enjoy the typical cuisine.
The market of Santanyi with its more than 150 stalls is held every Wednesday and Saturday on the main streets of the town (Carrer Portell, de la Mar, de la Pau, Sant Andreu ...) and in the surroundings of the church and on the main square,
It is one of the most charming markets in Mallorca. Here you will find almost everything. Local produce, cheese, preserves, sausages, olives, wines or spirits, besides flowers, clothes, kitchen utensils, decorative items ... and of course craftsmanship like the pottery of Pòrtol, fabrics or sculptures from the famous stone with which the emblematic buildings of Santanyi (cathedral, Bellver Castle or Almudaina Palace ...) have been built.
Other municipalities also hold their weekly markets: on Tuesdays in S'Alqueria Blanca, and on Thursdays in Es Llombars and Calonge. In the summer, Cala Egos also holds a handicraft art market, which takes place every Thursday afternoons on the Avenida de Sa Marina.
