Access to the complex is through the casa de l’Almoina (Alms House), next to the bell tower. In this house, now the museum’s foyer, bread and alms were distributed to the poor and the sick. The façade dates from 1529 and the works were designed by a disciple of the architect Guillem Sagrera. The interior is decorated with mudéjar wall murals. The museum consists of three main rooms: the old sacristy of the Vermells (Reds) from the early 14th century; the old Gothic chapter, attributed to Guillem Sagrera; and the Baroque chapter, designed in 1696, profusely decorated with floral motifs. Many other works of great value can be admired in the Museo capitular (Chapter museum), such as seven-armed candelabra, silver work by Joan Matons in the early 18th century, or the 1585 large monstrance. Likewise, on the corridor walls in the cloister (built over the old orchard in 1707) you can see widely varied elements of old works that belonged to the Cathedral.
