Beach Monte De Oro

Do not forget your diving glasses, because you will find a numerous and slippery fauna on the sandy and rocky seabed of Posidonia. The beach is located on the coast of Santa Ponça, between the Punta des Gats and the Punta des Castellot, and is part of the Costa de la Calma. This is also the name of the main settlement in this area. On this beach without services - therefore its charm in an area of beaches with many buildings - which is visited by locals who appreciate the tranquility. On the banks you will find very often the remains of Posidona, the sea-plant, which is responsible for the transparency of the water. 

You can reach Santa Ponça following the road signs. Palmeres Street leads you directly to the beach. If you feel like hiking, you can walk to Es Castellot, a fortress of the 18th century, 40 meters above sea level. The tower was part of the coastal defense.
