Home to the Solicitor-General of the Crown
In 1523, the building belonged to Francesc Burgues, the Solicitor-General of the Crown. On the 26 November, 1541, the sovereign Charles V stayed here, after the failure of his military expedition against Algiers. In 1576, it was the most expensive house in the Estim (land registry). In 1636, it was purchased by Nicolau Burgues. It currently belongs to the Blanes family.
It has a huge rounded doorway which leads into the entrance and here we can see the staircase on the right. A segmental arch featuring the Burgues coat of arms in the capitals provides access to the patio, with the Blanes coat of arms to the left. Two additional segmental arches can be seen in the coach houses at the end of the patio, which feature Burgues heraldry.
