Cove Es Canons

This pretty beach is also known as the Sa Banyera dels Ermitans because it was visited by the hermits of the Betlem Chapel - or Els Maresos, because it is reminiscent of an ancient sandstone quarry (marés in Catalan), while the name Es Canons (The cannons ) Recalls the remains of the guns found on this coastal section.

The beach is located between Sa Ferradura and the Punta de Ca los Camps, on a coastal section with low rocks. The beach, 100 meters long and with a bank of rocks, rocks and sand, is part of a protected area (Área Natural de Especial Interés - Natural Landscape of Special Interest). It is a lonely place that does not provide any services; so do not forget to bring something to drink and to eat and bring your diving glasses also with you, because the seabed is covered with Posidonia, stones and some sandy sections. Es Canons is close to the residential area Urbanización Betlem, at the foot of the chapel of the same name, and you should not miss to visit an enclave where a self-sufficient religious community lived in a landscape of great beauty.

To reach the beach from Capdepera (24.7 km) or Artà (17.9 km), follow the road signs to Colònia de Sant Pere and then to Urbanización Betlem; shortly before the roundabout, you will see a turn-off to the left which leads to the beach. You can leave your car next to the beach.
