Francesc Truyols i Font de Roqueta commissioned the construction of this building in 1696 according to the design drawn up by the engineer Martín Gil de Gaínza from Navarre, who had gone to Mallorca to build the city walls. The patio follows the layout of the medieval walls. The elliptical staircase dates to the 19th century. The house takes its name from Marquis de la Torre, who Archduke Carlos (pretender to the Spanish Crown during the War of Succession) awarded to Mr. Nicolau Truyols i Dameto.
