Cultural space
It consists of two floors. The museum is located on the ground and first floor, divided into different spaces.
Pollença Museum is situated in the old convent of the Dominican monks. The Dominican friars lived there until 1836, when it was closed as a consequence of the disentailment. Since then it has been used for different activities and also houses the Pollença Museum. The name of Pollença has been linked to painting since the early twentieth century, when artists such as Anglada Camarasa and Tito Cittadini arrived from Paris. Its international renown attracted other artists like Mir or De Creft, among others. The influence of these artists was reinforced in the sixties through the creation of the Salón Estival de Pintura (Summer Painting Salon), now the Certamen Internacional de Artes Plásticas (International Sculpture Competition) that, over 34 years of history, has formed the basis of Pollença Museum’s collection.
