Learn how to make Majorcan herb liqueur

The people of Majorca love herbal liqueur! They drink it chilled on summer evenings with friends after dinner, and if they can, they're keen to offer up their own home-grown herbs. That's why Urban Adventures invites you to make your own bottle of homemade herbal liqueur, so you can experience our culture in the most authentic way.

You'll meet in Palma and go to Esporles together, a beautiful village in the Tramuntana mountain range which was declared a World Heritage Site for its cultural landscape. Once there, you'll walk through the fields and gather the herbs needed to make your liqueur. You'll learn about some of the plants in the area and enjoy the natural surroundings.

Once you've harvested the herbs, you'll go to the house where you'll prepare your liqueur with whichever herbs you like best. Afterwards, you'll have some time to relax and try some local products, such as sobrasada, Quelitas (traditional Majorcan crackers), olives and cold beers.

Once the bottle is ready, it'll be the perfect souvenir and you can share it with your friends back home. But you'll have to be patient: it needs to age for at least three months!
