Traditional music and dance in Ibiza

In March, the month that welcomes spring, the municipality of Sant Josep de sa Talaia celebrates its patron saint. The streets are alive with events celebrating local culture and tradition and locals and visitors alike enjoy music, dance and typical Ibizan food as they pay homage to the saint.

The festival comes with an agenda full of activities for all tastes throughout the month of March: from sports competitions to children's activities, excursions, theatre, literary walks, competitions, film screenings and concerts. A host of events and plans fill the schedule of the picturesque town for weeks on end.

The most important day is 19 March, the day of Sant Josep. After the mass, folklore groups perform and delight the audience with ball pagès, and the town council and the parish workers serve the wine of honour. In the afternoon, the streets are filled with children's games and music until sunset, when the Dimonis els Mals Esperits light up the night and come out to fill the town with light, pyrotechnics and colour with spectacular correfocs.

Celebrate spring in Sant Josep and immerse yourself in Ibiza's tradition!
