On the Balearic Islands there are different places where you can spend a different day on a walk to get to know the local customs and taste the typical products. Here we present some of the most interesting ones.

On Mallorca, without leaving Palma, are the Jardines de Natzaret gardens. They are a cultural asset (Bien de Interés Cultural) and offer an interesting variety of the indigenous flora and wonderful views of the Can Barbarà Dock. The jardines de la Misericòrdia gardens are the cultural center of the Balearic government, and invite you to relax in the heart of the city. The jardines del Obispo gardens, at the Bishop's Palace, also deserve attention.

In Esporles, La Granja is a 17th century country house surrounded by vegetation, fountains and gardens, where you can participate in tasting, cultural activities or exhibitions of folk art. In Bunyola, the Jardines de Alfàbia gardens offers us the great beauty of its flora and the gothic, Renaissance and baroque elements of the country house, at the foot of the mountains of the same name (Ctra Palma-Sóller Km 17). Also in Bunyola, we recommend a visit to the public Finca Raixa, with its mansion, gardens and the Arabian rainwater cistern. And on the other side of the tunnel, in Sóller, you should visit the botanical garden. In it, the Mediterranean flora is protected, researched and made accessible to the general public.  Another rural house that will bring you to the traditional life of the 18th and 19th century is Els Calderers, in Sant Joan, a country house rebuilt as an ethnological museum.

In Ibiza, the Finca d’es Xebel·lins (Ctra d'Eivissa to Ca na Negreta) offers you the opportunity to walk in the ecological garden, to visit the house, the pond and the Arabian fountain, as well as seasonal vegetables. The project Ibiza Púnica Delicatessen Floral is also being developed in Ibiza, on the Finca Can Sastre (ctra Ibiza-San Miguel km 7,400). It cultivates edible flowers. The finca can be visited. Applications under number 630 555 126

In Menorca, in the Predio de San Antonio - The Golden Farm, on the northern slope of the Puerto de Mahón Pass (Ctra La Mola km.3), you will find a manor house with a Neo-Palladian style façade, the only one in Spain. The house has a well maintained garden, wonderful views and space for events. The interior of the country house is privately used, but you can request a guided tour. On the same island the Finca Sant Patrici (Ferreries) is operated as a country hotel. Here you can watch the production of wine and cheese at the Museo Etnológico del Queso de Menorca, the only one of the Balearic Islands. Lastly, Biniatram is a family-run country house in the north of the island, 7 km from Ciutadella and 700 meters from Cala Morell. The finca has great scenic value, with possible excursions to the beaches of Algaiarens. Where do you want to start?
